Patch 1.1
A Long Night » Devlog
Hello everybody!
A lot of people played the game and made Let's Plays on Youtube, which was not only great and fun to see, but also useful. I was able to pinpoint some bugs, like the AI getting stuck in multiple ways, and to see the reactions to some systems like the stamina.
Even though development for this game should have stopped, I managed to get you a quick patch, improving the quality of the game overall, hopefully at least. After the patch, in a nutshell:
- The AI may still get stuck, but it should be less usual and it should get unstuck if it sees you
- Stamina and speed feel better
- Quality of life, and death, has been improved
Here is the detailed list:
- Fixed a bug where the Wendigo would get stuck on a fence, multiple times
- Fixed a bug where the Wendigo would get stuck in place after losing sight of the player
- Fixed a bug where the Wendigo would keep following the player after respawning from checkpoint
- Fixed a bug where the AI would stop following when near a wall or a fence
- Fixed a bug where the AI would freak out when following the player
- Fixed texture rendering problems
- Fence gates have been exterminated
- Doors no longer push you around against your will when opening/closing
- Removed the "quit" easter egg (thanks Ivan)
- Hovering on the "restart from checkpoint" button actually tells you that no progress is lost
- Flashlight now turns on automatically when stepping out of the house for the first time
- Increased slightly Wendigo chasing speed
- Improved max stamina and consumption, but it starts regenerating after a short cooldown
- Stamina no longer depletes when pressing shift while standing still
- Added lightposts to better guide the player towards the hill
Once again, thank you so much for playing and all your kind words and feedback!
